Following the comments on our front page re F1's we are receiving derogatory and nasty emails on a daily basis more or less blackmailing us to take off said comments. As well as the emails we have received many telephone calls, some threatening both ourselves and our cats, always on a withheld or private number prying into our affairs and questioning the validity of Esmonds articles. We would like to make this clear to whoever is doing this that we will not be blackmailed into doing any such thing, the articles by Esmond Gay, which incidently were put on our site to be informative and maybe help those cat lovers who are interested to learn more about the breed from a long established breeder who was one of the earliest breeders of Bengals in the UK. These articles will stay on as long as we wish, as will anything else that we put on our site.

:: The Asian Leopard Cat - an Expert View by C.Esmond Gay ::

We are shortly to publish an article on our site regarding the breeding of F1 and F2 kittens from C.Esmond Gay of Sarez Bengals. This article will explain just how difficult it is to breed F1 and F2 bengals and also the massive difficulty in getting an Asian Leopard Cat to hybridise with a domestic bengal female.

As this is very difficult, in fact almost impossible there seems to be an awful lot of F1 kittens on the market at the moment. We would welcome DNA testing on any of our cats, buyers of F1's should seriously consider this option.

If something seems to good to be true then it usually is! Asian Leopard Cats really have a massive influence on the kittens that they sire ie. in colour (no glittering) and almost a 100% brown spotted, in our case with the occasional charcoal.

It seems that our comments regarding DNA testing have caused quite an uproar amongst other breeders and we have had a phone call from a very disgruntled person, who also withheld his telephone number. The reason we wrote the above comments was that within the last ten days we have six calls from people claiming to have bred large litters of F1 bengals very recently. Some even claim to have bred silvers. We recently bred a jet black F2 bengal who has now been sold and since then apparantly several other people have suddenly bred black F2's. We found this a little bit strange hence our comments. It is not our intention to offend any one or to ruin any other breeders trade. Our kittens are 100% genuine, hence our invitation to anyone who buys a kitten from us and who has any doubt as to their kittens parentage to DNA test. We recommend that you read the articles by C.Esmond Gay soon to be put on our site.

Frank and Pauline of Gayzette Bengals, based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, welcome you to visit our web site. Here you will see our stunning home bred F1 bengal cats by Apollo of Gayzette ALC. Also you will see F1 bengal cats bred by Michael Pont in the early days of the bengal breeding programme in the UK.

The beautiful Bengal cat is a unique combination of its stunning ancestor the Asian Leopard Cat and the domestic cat. This combination of ALC/domestic was created in America by Jean Mill who bred and registered her cats under the prefix of Millwood. The Bengal cat has developed into a breed that produces various colours, brown, black and snow spotted and brown and snow marble and now the fabulous silver, all with the most stunning range of eye colouring.

The bengal cat is of average size and is extrememly atheltic, particularily in the early generations.  We have found the F1 bengal cat physically, extremely strong, easy to feed and keep and contrary to what many breeders assume,  live happily in the company of people, are not dangerous or shy. Very vigorous, healthy cats and with our bloodlines (Apollo of Gayzette ALC UK) crossed with the wonderful Llandar National Velvet females we have developed an early generation cat with a fantastic friendly temperament, with a pelt that feels like silk to the touch, with tremendous glittering.. All F1 females to date have been retained as breeding queens, bringing our total of F1 females to 11.
Go on put a little leopard in your life!
